out of seven is a personal beer rating and forecast product. This page explains what data we collect, how we use it, and who we share it with.
What we collect
An email address and password hash when you sign up. The tastings, ratings, tags, and notes you choose to log. Basic session data needed to keep you signed in.
If you add a location to your profile, we convert it to geographic coordinates and store those on your account. This is optional and used for nearby brewery discovery.
What we don't collect
We do not sell your data. We do not run third-party advertising trackers. We do not build profiles of your browsing behavior.
Third-party services
We use a small number of services to operate:
- Umami — cookieless analytics that counts page views without tracking you
- Anthropic — AI that reads menu images in the scanner feature; images are processed and not stored
- OpenStreetMap Nominatim — converts location text to coordinates; only the text you enter is sent
- Resend — sends transactional emails (verification, password reset)
None of these services receive your personal information beyond what is strictly necessary for their function.
Your tastings
Tastings you mark public are visible to other users, including visitors who are not logged in. Public tastings may be indexed by search engines. Tastings you mark private are only visible to you.
You can delete any tasting at any time. Deleted tastings are removed from the database, not just hidden.
Data retention
Your account data is retained until you request deletion. Session tokens expire after 30 days and are automatically removed.
